King of the Parrots

Look who dropped in for a feed.

A regular visitor to our bird feeders are King Parrots.
This one is a male, his partner was too shy to come down. Her colouring is mostly green.
Beautiful!
Always lovely to see them.

Gorgeous, we've only got blackbirds and starlings visiting our yard plus the ocassional silver eye finches, willy wagtails and wattle birds.

So gorgeous!! I wish we had more of these guys here. I managed to photograph what I thought was a female one the other week, but now I'm wondering if it was a King Parrot or a Red-shouldered parrot...

Blackberries are very familiar to me as a Brit, but king parrots seem such an exotic breed to get at a feeder! How lovely to see such beautiful flashes of colour so close to home.=)
