Railway carriage (Studio) update

The ends of the carriage are now painted (Venetian Red) and look fabulous. We have sealed the hardwood platform to protect it from the weather.

Here is a photo of the stained glass sliding door that closes off the front room of the carriage. There is also a handy little built-in corner cupboard in this room - very cute.

The floor has been sanded and oiled (with Chinawood oil) and came up just beautifully. The floor sander man said that the type of timber used in the floor is ironbark - a very hard wood and a rich red colour.

We now have to finish the painting both inside and outside. Also order and install the glass louvres (we just have plywood in place temporarily). The electrician has to come back and install the light fittings and powerpoints. We are getting there!

View from back end of carriage. Still a bit of work to do before I can move my gear in (can't wait)
Cheerio for now,
Sandi xx

Wow the carriage is turning into a beautful place to sew. Congratulations on getting this far with it. Your handiwork is most impressive. Glad to see something restored to a new use.
