Stitchers' Angel sewing

I have now finished the third item for the Stitchers' Angel swap - a scissor holder by Lynette Anderson-O'Rourke. My swap partner likes pink and green. I have also painted a little wooden needlecase in these colours too. I hope she likes them.
Happy Stitching,

Growers Market

I went to our local farmer's market this morning. Found some fantastic local produce - bananas, avocadoes, handmade hommus, a delicious date and orange slice (yummo), a big bunch of native and south African flowers, a punnet of lime basil seedlings, and a bale of meadow hay for the ducklings. A nice morning out. Do you enjoy your local markets too?
Cheers,

A Flying Visit

Look who flew in today for a quick visit, but stayed long enough for me to take her picture (on my sewing bag). This beautiful beetle is very colourful, with yellow and orange spots. I don't know the name of this one; she? is much bigger than a ladybeetle.

Fluffy ducks

I couldn't resist showing you some more photos of our little ducks. They are now 16 days old, and are growing so fast. During the day they go to their portable enclosure in the yard where they can eat greens, and run around, chase bugs and bask in the sunshine. What more could you want? They lead a charmed life.

Stitchers' Angel project

I have finished the embroidery on the sewing bag, designed by May Britt from Norway. My swap partner likes pinks and greens. The wings and the little dress are coloured with prismacolor pencil. Oh, I have also quilted a light green running stitch around the border, since I've taken the photo, I hope she likes it.

My Little Duckies

Here are some photos of our 5 new ducklings. They are eight days old. As you can see, Dash is obsessed with them, and already wants to round them up.
They love to swim in their water dish.
This morning, when I went to change their water, I saw a python lurking around near the door to the pen. So I had to move them somewhere safe. They are now temporarily in the bathroom in their big plastic crate. (with their food, water and heater)
*We moved them back outside the next morning. I saw the snake over in the yard next door (near their chook pen). I hope the snake has moved on now.
Am busy sewing for my Stitcher's Angel swap partner. Have finished the tote bag and now starting on the sewing bag.
Happy Stitching,

Stitchers' Angel project

Here is a glimpse of my stitchers' angel project (Blue Wren's Nest mini tote bag), it is ready to sew on the machine. Sorry about the picture quality - my camera is not well. I hope my (secret) American swap partner likes it.

On sunday, we bought five ducklings, they are soooo cute. There are a few different breeds, Welsh Harlequin, Khaki Cambell, and Rouen. When they are bigger, they will be able to roam free in the garden, foraging for snails and bugs. Our dog, Dash is very interested in watching the little ducks. I will have to post some photos (with new camera?)
Happy Stitching,
